“Early to bed and early to rise makes a person Healthy and Wise!” – Ben Franklin
This is no false saying as the benefits of getting a proper sleep of at least 7-8hours are multiple. On parallel grounds, rising early every day has its own advantages.
The kind of lifestyle most of us follow which includes more work, less time resulting in a haste; is not an ideal one. We don’t realize this now, but sooner or later, our health is going to suffer a lot because of the lifestyle we follow. All we need to do is bring certain changes, not very extreme changes, though.
Many successful CEOs mention in their interviews that they are early risers . If we want to be successful in life, we need to be ahead of people ie. we need to be working when others aren’t.
“Somewhere, right now, someone is training while you are not. When you race him, he will win.”
So, be prepared for everything and learn to stay ahead, be it in the case of ‘rising early’.
The one thing you all might learn after reading through this article will probably be that we aren’t as big as we think we are. Nothing can replace the sight of a beautiful sunrise. Imagine that feeling of witnessing the sky turn from dark to light. When you will experience it, you will realize the importance and the beauty of nature, that is when you will realize that you nothing but 1 in a 7Billion population! It might help you change your perspective for the better.
10 Reasons to Start your Day Early Everyday are:
1) Head start
When you wake up early and by early, I am referring to that typical ‘5am’ time, you will be up earlier than 99.9% of the world — thereby giving a head start to your day. Eventually, it will make you feel good. As it is said that a good start is like half the battle won. With time, it will no more be a struggle to get off the bed this early. You will be motivated yourself. A positive force will act on you. Getting up early will also make our brain analyze things and work effectively. One major advantage of getting a head start is that you can plan yours according to your wish. On the contrary, when one rises late, every work is done in haste and priorities are set ranging from the most important to the least important task. Naturally, you will stay ahead in work if you are an early riser. If you happen to work till late on a weekend, it will subsequently affect your sleep cycle as you will get up a little later than you normally do the next day, this might continue for a week or so. This might have a negative impact on your health. It isn’t an inscribed fact that waking up early will shoot up productivity! On the contrary, it may also be said that waking up late might not affect the productivity.
Summing up, the psychological benefits of getting a ‘head start’ weigh more than the credit we actually give it. Everything on one side and ‘HEALTH’ on one as Health is Wealth.
2) Increase in Productivity
An outcome of a great head start is increased productivity. The efficiency of your work gets better, believe it or not. You are able to complete more work in less time. It is scientifically proven that getting up late makes you work in a slower manner as compared to the days when you rise early. You won’t believe me on any of this until you actually experience it for yourself. Moreover, early mornings are so peaceful and quiet that you can actually concentrate more on your work.
Showing up on time during an appointment is of utter importance and it helps you strengthen your impression on the client or your boss. Time and tide waits for none, hence we should respect it and work accordingly. Practically rising early gives you more time for preparation and you can be more organised in your own way. You can actually structure your da according to your will. This will help you in the long run in improving your timeliness.
4) Be the Master of Self
Waking up is an art you can master. In case we aren’t able to master ourselves, we won’t be able to work on time and will lag in almost every aspect.
Taking an example of staying up late to work. Have you ever wondered what keeps you going for days with the same trend? If you analyse deeply, you will realize that it is because of your inefficiency to manage things well. You should be able to manage and rule over your actions and not let things happen the other way round. Ultimately the reason behind it all is, that you aren’t able to succeed with self-mastery. Stay focused, be your own coach/master, manage time well in order to be successful with self-mastery.
5) Peace and Serenity
Everything is so peaceful and quiet. You can enjoy the chirping of the birds, the rustling of leaves and cherish nature to its best. There is absolutely no disturbance early in the morning. The best part is that you will get minimum or absolutely no calls or messages at this time. This leads to mental peace!
