Top 10 Most Dangerous Batsman in World Cricket Today

The World Cricket might have churned men of great technique and concentration. But more dangerous for the playing teams are those hard hitting batsmen who turn the game like the toss of a coin. When they are on the pitch, you make no guesses of what side emerges victorious, even if there team is almost on the verge of clear defeat. They destroy and tear the most intensive bowling attacks with lifting just their bat and spinning fours and sixes as though writing the alphabet. They are dangerously dear because while they pose potential threat to the opposite team, they are the rescuers for the nation they play for, or the team if that you might say. The most explosive hard hitters of world cricket today, they bat like it’s nobody’s business and well when they are on the pitch, victory is actually nobody else’s business.

10. Virat Kohli

Just as much a Cricket fanatics delight as he is the heartthrob sportsman for girls from around the world. And who does this Heartthrob play for? No guesses there, it has to be Team India. As much as he makes news for all the wrong reasons with constant hitches and breaks in his romance with bollywood girlies, he is more in the news for all the right reasons for his romance with his bat and the hate relationship he shared with the bowler’s ball. This right handed middle ordered Batsman captained team India in the 2008 Under 19 cricket World cup. And has there been any looking back? I doubt. He’s gone from highs to highs with holding the record for fastest 17 centuries in ODI’s by any batsmen till date. So he has been awarded with being called the successor to Master Blaster in India, and well… that says it all.

9. Aaron Finch

Finchy, as he’s popularly called can get all the credit for getting rival teams to fear his very arrival on the pitch. This right handed top order batsman holds the world record for highest innings in a Twenty 20 International match with 156 in his hat, scored against England on 29th August 2013. World Cup 2015 too has been good to Flinchy with his century in Australia’s first match against England making him the man of the match. So beware team India- It’s time you looked out for this hard hitter and made sure you didn’t take his wicket in pure fun, for this man can pose serious threat to your victory.

8. Suresh Raina

This left handed Indian batsman has had many victories to feather his cap. At meagre 5 ft 8 inches he might not stand too tall, but not to undermine his skyhigh performances. He is an all rounder who is as much applauded for his bowling skills, but as a batsman, he is threatening. He is the highest run getter of the Indian Premier League. This man in the Cricket World cup 2015 has already proved his worth in the selected team. He is also the only Indian to have scored centuries in all three forms of the game in International cricket. So does Australia need to fear? Yes, India got some real batsmen playing on their sides.

7. David Miller

Again a left handed cricket wonder, this South African cricketer has proved time and again that he is most likely a dangerous threat. He was mostly popular as a domestic player till he took to international cricket. He rose to fame so more after his IPL victories for the Kings XI Punjab where his innings of 101 not out off 38 balls lead him to be nicknamed Killer Miller.

6. David Warner

Whoever said right handed people did wonders never saw these left handed batsmen bat on the pitch. This Australian cricketer is the quick scoring left handed opening batsman. He is the first Australian cricketer in over 132 years to have been selected in the national team without first class cricket experience. He is extremely popular for his ability to switch hit. He also has the record for second fastest 50 after Yuvraj singh in International T20 Cricket.

5. Chris Gayle

This left handed Jamaican batsmen is sure West Indies’ best bet in turning the match around. He can be intimidating in form (thanks to his height) but more so when in form on the pitch. You can guess the impact with the nickname he’s got in Gayleforce, GayleStorm and Master Storm. He must really be some Storm then. He is one of the only four players to have to their credit two triple test centuries and hitting sixes is this man’s area of expertise. Played captain to West Indies from 2007 until 2010, be sure not to take the time light headedly if he is playing. Only recently this man became the only cricketer in the world till date to have a double century in the Cricket World Cup (Against Zimbabwe- CWC 15). So beware, he might just spin your head around.

4. M.S. Dhoni

 MS Dhoni

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, at age 33 is still a batsman well in form for years at a run. This right handed batsman guided India to its most glorious cricket victories in the history of World Cricket. He holds several records to his name including highest number of wins by an Indian captain in tests and ODI’s as well as most back to back wins by an Indian captain in ODI’s. India won the 2007 ICC World twenty20 as well as got the cup home in 2011 in the ICC world cup. The Cricket World CUp 2015 has been seeing the better side of him as an individual as well as a captain with six straight wins. If the victory continues, he might just add another feather to his cap.

3. Glenn Maxwell

This Australian cricketer gives no choice to the opposing team but to take his presence seriously. He might not be as stupendously experienced as other legendaries in his team and contemporaries but he defies the very idea of experience being a big deal. He was chosen as one of the fifteen member Squad in ICC CWC 2015 and he proved his excellence in his stupendous performance against Sri Lanka where he scored 102 runs at the Sydney Cricket Ground to rise his team to victory.

2. Brendon McCullum

This rather short Right handed cricketer has had a career with fewer credits than he deserved. He rose to fame initially more of his performance for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League than International Cricket but has he looked back? I doubt. He opens the One Day Internationals for New Zealand, and there is no wonder in the fact that New Zealand has sped its way to the top in world cricket. His brother and father were both first class cricketers so it is mostly in his genes. He scored 302 in his test against India on 18th February 2015 and became the only Batsman from NewZealand to score a triple century in Test Cricket.

1. AB De Villiers

This South African Cricketer, is named Abraham Benjamin de Villiers and Captains the South African One Day International Team. He is a right handed Batsman and is regarded as the best Batsman in the world at present. As in January 2014, Villiers ranked first in ODI batting ranking and 2nd in the test counterparts. He holds the record for most test innings without registering a duck (78) before November 2008. He holds the record for fastest 50 (16 Balls), 100(31 balls) and 150 (64 balls) in ODI cricket breaking the record of New Zealand’s Corey Anderson. So, need you be scared of this man’s attack? There is no way you can’t.
