10 Reasons to have More Coffee

People say that with a right cup of coffee, any argument can be brought to rest. When the work starts to pile up, a momentary pause to drink coffee is my way to get back on track efficiently. Many people can relate this idea of consuming coffee in an accurate manner. Facts encourage us to believe things , one of the known fact is coffee is the greatest source of anti-oxidants in a global diet. There are numerous reasons why one should have more coffee.

So, following are 10 reasons to have more coffee  :

10. Reduces the risk of Parkinson’s disease

Parkinson’s disease is the lack of production of dopamine in our brain. Dopamine functions as a neurotransmitter that sends signals to different nerves of our body. In other words, Parkinson’s is a degenerative brain disease that causes tremors, difficulty with walking, movement and coordination. Studies have showed the risk of having this disease decreases by 25% if a person has a definite intake of caffeine in his/ her system. Coffee stimulates the person’s neurons and thus eventually helps a person in an efficient way.  Various studies have brought light to this astonishing fact that people who are drinking coffee averaged a three-point improvement in the speed of their movements , whereas their caffeine-free counterparts are slow as compared to them.

9. Lowered risk of Diabetes

Diabetes is been a fast growing disease in this generation. The insulin levels change rapidly due to the food we consume and the control of consumption is a big factor for reducing the far effects of diabetes. Researchers have done a study where people with diabetes where divided among the ones who drink coffee and vice versa. The results showed that the risk of Diabetes ( Type 2 diabetes) has reduced comparatively among people who consume coffee. Scientifically, it is seen coffee helps to block a substance called human islet amyloid polypeptide that helps to develop diabetes.  Keeping the balance should be maintained among diabetic patients.

8. Loss of weight


According to some studies, consuming 100 mg of caffeine may increase your metabolic rate. Metabolic rate is the rate at which our body burns fat when it’s at rest. Thus, a person who has higher metabolic rate achieves the goal of reduction of weight. But this varies in different factors, like this effect can be seen more effective in younger individuals. Also it is seen, the increase in fat burning in lean people is as high as 29%, while in obese individuals the increase is about 10%.

7. Reduces the risk of Alzheimer’s disease

Alzheimer’s disease is a disease in which a person loses his memory and other brain functions. Coffee contains caffeine which blocks inflammation in the brain. Adults over the age of 65 who had higher levels of caffeine in their blood, were found to avoid or delay onset of Alzheimer’s. Tau protein is closely linked to Alzheimer. Caffeine contains compounds that block receptors in the brain. These receptors contain tau. A study showed that adults  consuming 200 mg of caffeine before taking memory test did incredibly well. We can thus achieve sharpness of memory because of coffee.

6. It helps make your reproductive systems happy.

Prostate cancer begins when cells in the prostate gland start to grow uncontrollably. The prostate is a gland found only in males. It makes some of the fluid that is part of semen. A study has shown that men consuming at least 6 or more cups of coffee a day reduced their risk of prostate cancer by 20 percent. Endometrial Cancer originates in the inner lining of the uterus. This lining is called the endometrium. Researchers found that women who drank more than four cups of coffee a day had a 25 percent lower risk of endometrial cancer. Endom5ial Cancer is the fourth most common cancer found in women. Therefore. coffee proves to be an excellent beverage to have such rich advantages.

5.  Reduces the risk of heart attack


We are familiar with heart attack but the proper way to describe would be that blockage of blood flow to heart muscle. A large consumption of coffee helps in increasing certain parameters like homocysteine. This leads to increase in heart attack rise.  The moderate consumption ( 1-3 cups a day) decreases the risk. This effect shows better results for women it acts as a protective effect. A study published in the journal Circulation Heart Failure, found that these moderate coffee drinkers were at 11 percent lower risk of heart failure.

4. Minimizes the risk of cirrhosis

Cirrhosis is the chronic damage from a variety of causes leading to scarring and liver failure. Many studies have confirmed that daily cups of coffee are linked with a reduced risk of cirrhosis liver disease. Coffee also helps in making our enzyme levels low that indicate liver damage. Apart from this, coffee may improve response to some treatments for hepatitis C.  The unfiltered coffee substances like Cafestol and kahweol , may be responsible for liver benefits.

3. Reduces Stroke Risk

A stroke occurs when blood flow to a part of the brain stops. Brain attack is the another term to describe stroke. Many studies have proved that consumption of coffee has variable effects on us. According to an article, those who drank at least 1 cup of coffee a day reduced their risk of stroke by 20% compared to nondrinkers. But chance of a stroke may increase immediately after intake, particularly among infrequent consumers. It is highly recommended for people to consult before making it an habit of drinking coffee. Thus, we can conclude that coffee limits both the risk, and the dangerous consequences, of stroke.

2. Alternative to harmful painkillers

Most of us undergo mental stress, pain in the back. We generally have a painkiller to ease the pain. The effects of taking a single dose of a pain reliever like acetaminophen or ibuprofen and coffee are same. A recent study shows that 5 to 10 percent more of the people who took pills with caffeine experienced a good level of pain relief. Some researchers observed  people performing office work and found those who consumed coffee only declared a pain-intensity level of 41, whereas participants who didn’t drink any coffee reported having a score of 55.

Coffee promotes blood circulation, effectively reducing the swelling of tissues and de-puffing areas of the skin. A  study showed coffee drinkers had a lower risk of developing basal cell carcinoma. Thus preventing the development of carcinoma cancer. Coffee is also a diuretic, meaning that it will help the body get rid of unnecessary water and other toxins. As it helps the movement of water throughout the skin, it can also help support a healthier skin appearance. These antioxidants present in coffee make it very effective in repairing the damage caused by the ultraviolet radiations of the sun. In this way, coffee benefits plays a vital role in maintaining one’s skin.
